Southeastern Food Bank President Mark Anthony emphasized the organization's commitment to serving as many people as possible during Thanksgiving. "We will be delivering groceries to about 1,000 families," he said. "The numbers can vary depending on the incoming donations and the availability of volunteers." "I can relate to the folks I deliver to because I lived on the streets of Puerto Rico from ages 8 to 18," Cariano shared. "We experienced food insecurities, and I had to hunt pigeons to feed my brother and sister. Now, I'm here to help others in similar situations." His personal experience adds a touch of empathy and authenticity to the food bank's efforts.
