In Lufkin, Texas, the arrival of spring is celebrated not only by blooming flowers and the anticipation of Easter but also through a special event known as SpringFEST. This gathering has become a cornerstone of the local community's calendar, offering families an opportunity to come together for a day filled with activities, food, and entertainment. Previously branded as the Downtown Lufkin Hoedown, this festival has undergone changes while maintaining its core essence of family tradition and fun.

The transformation of this annual celebration began in 2017 when it was rebranded from the Downtown Lufkin Hoedown to SpringFEST. Natalie Howard, representing Visit Lufkin, plays a pivotal role in organizing this event. She emphasizes that the primary goal is to provide families with a memorable experience. The festival spans several hours, featuring a selection of popular food trucks offering diverse cuisines alongside numerous vendors providing unique shopping opportunities.

With over 30 vendors confirmed, there will be ample choices for attendees. Each vendor is encouraged to incorporate interactive children's activities into their booths, ensuring that young visitors remain engaged and entertained throughout the day. Additionally, the revitalization of Lufkin’s downtown area adds a fresh dimension to the event, including Cotton Square Park, which enhances accessibility and provides a picturesque setting.

Live performances and artistic displays line the streets, contributing to the festive atmosphere. Parking remains convenient, allowing guests to comfortably enjoy the festivities. Natalie Howard suggests bringing chairs and sunscreen to make the most out of the day.

Tomorrow, Cotton Square Park in downtown Lufkin will host SpringFEST from 11 am to 3 pm. Admission is free, inviting everyone to partake in the joyous celebration of springtime in Lufkin.
