The North Valley Food Bank has reached the halfway mark of its 24 Days of Giving campaign. This dedicated effort aims to provide essential support to those in need during the holiday season and beyond. Each day until Christmas Eve, they are calling for specific items such as nonperishable food and household essentials. This year alone, they have distributed over 600,000 pounds of food and served over 600 meals during Thanksgiving. It's a remarkable achievement that showcases the community's generosity.
Not only are they focused on distributing food, but they are also working hard to meet a financial goal this month. Mandy Gerth, the director of development at North Valley Food Bank, explains, "We are striving to raise half a million dollars before the end of the calendar year. Despite being at 30% of that goal, our community's kindness continues to fund our essential programming that benefits the community throughout the year."
North Valley Food Bank is committed to serving fresh food and providing meals for community members. Rachael Broom, the culinary arts manager, shares, "We make roughly anywhere from 500-1,000 meals a month. Currently, as we approach the end of the year, we are on the verge of hitting 10,000 meals that have been prepared in our kitchen. This is a testament to our team's dedication and the community's support."
The impact of their efforts is truly remarkable. By providing both food and financial support, they are making a lasting difference in the lives of many. To find out the remaining 24 Days of Giving items, click here and continue to be a part of this meaningful journey.
