The Post Falls community is coming together to address food insecurity during the Thanksgiving to Christmas period. Scot Haug, representing the Post Falls Ambassadors, emphasizes the importance of such initiatives in a discreet manner. As he explains, "We know in this economy there’s a lot of people struggling though some people don’t realize it."
Details of the Mobile Food Bank Event
The no-questions-asked mobile market takes place from 11 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. It offers mostly nonperishable items along with some dairy and baking elements. There are enough materials to serve about 250 families. Tables will be set up for a smooth drive-through process where participants can simply receive a box of food. The event is being held at the parking lot of Yoke’s at 1501 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls. The Post Falls Ambassadors reached out to the Greene Idaho Foundation to cover the event costs and were successful in securing this location.Community Group's Initiatives
The community group started in 2015 with the aim of bringing positive changes to Post Falls. Due to rising costs and financial pressures, they try to organize events like the food bank from time to time. Haug highlights their efforts to make a difference in the community.Need for Volunteers
While 2nd Harvest will provide a significant amount of food, the group is still in search of volunteers ahead of the event. Participants are asked to access the parking lot from the east side of Schneidmiller Way to pick up a box of food. If you're interested in assisting, you can email Haug at scothaug@gmail.com. This is a great opportunity for individuals to contribute to the well-being of their community and help those in need.
