The Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK) men's basketball team has demonstrated resilience after a tough loss last Thursday, bouncing back with two significant victories. The Sharks dropped from their previous ranking to No. 24 following an 87-83 defeat against South Arkansas College, but they have since regained momentum. On Monday, SEARK secured an 86-76 win over the defending national champion National Park College and followed it up with a dominant 101-52 victory against Champion Christian College on Tuesday. These wins have kept the Sharks competitive in the Region 2 race, where they trail North Arkansas College, Arkansas State University Mid-South, and SouthArk by just half a game. With nine league games remaining, SEARK is set to face the University of Arkansas-Cossatot this Thursday and Southern Arkansas University Tech on Saturday.

The recent performances of key players have been instrumental in the Sharks' resurgence. Derek Magwood has been particularly impressive, scoring 20 points against Champion Christian College and 22 points the night before against National Park. Israel Malone contributed consistently, scoring 15 points against National Park and adding 6 against Champion. Tobias Prall has also been a standout, extending his streak of games with at least one three-pointer to 14. He made six threes against National Park and five against Champion, finishing with 20 and 17 points respectively. Jehu Wright returned strongly, scoring 16 points against National Park and 7 against Champion.

The SEARK women's team, currently holding an 8-6 record (3-3 in Region 2), is aiming to build on their recent success. After a challenging 79-56 loss to National Park, the Shark women bounced back with a narrow 59-58 victory over Champion Christian College. Amethyst Price led the charge with 17 points, while Za’Nyah LeFear added 14. This marks the first time the women's team has won consecutive games since early December. As they prepare for their upcoming match against Cossatot, the women's squad hopes to continue their upward trajectory.

With these recent victories, both the men's and women's teams at SEARK are looking to maintain their momentum as they head into crucial matches in the coming weeks. The men's team will look to climb back up the rankings, while the women aim to solidify their position in Region 2. The upcoming games against Cossatot and SAU Tech will be pivotal in determining the direction of both teams' seasons.
