An exhibition titled "Impact!" is currently on display at the Playhouse Gallery within the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison. This special showcase celebrates two decades of the center’s vibrant history by intertwining visual arts, music, and performance. Among the featured artists is Verona-based creator Pat Kroth, whose piece "Fiber Optics" stands out with its unique use of recycled fabrics and hand-dyed materials. The exhibit runs until March 9 and reflects the enduring legacy of artistic innovation that has characterized the Overture galleries over the past twenty years.

Kroth’s work exemplifies a fusion of environmental consciousness and artistic expression. Her textile art, influenced by jazz melodies, showcases vibrant contrasts in color and texture. Initially an abstract painter and printmaker, Kroth gradually transitioned into working with fibers and textiles. Her creations often incorporate repurposed materials, drawing inspiration from natural elements and incorporating a touch of playfulness. Through her innovative approach, Kroth has established herself as a prominent figure in both local and international art circles.

Over the years, Kroth's art has gained recognition through various prestigious platforms. Her pieces have been exhibited in renowned institutions such as the National Quilt Museum and the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. Additionally, she has participated in numerous national and global exhibitions, including Crafts National, Quilt National, and Fiber Art International. Beyond traditional gallery settings, Kroth also engages in on-site installations, further emphasizing her commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Beyond the "Impact!" exhibition, Kroth continues to share her talents at regional juried art fairs throughout the Midwest. Her next appearance will be at the PBS Wisconsin’s Garden and Green Living Expo held at the Alliant Energy Center from February 7-9. Visitors to the Overture Center can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of creativity showcased in the galleries, which continue to inspire and engage audiences with their diverse offerings.
